After school in the community

The SonWorshipers staff is inviting downtown business owners to open their doors and donate an hour or two a week to teens that otherwise could not afford to participate in these activities. They may include an art class at a local gallery, a ceramics class at a pottery shop, drama classes, sewing, dance, tae kwon do, and many more.

Juvenile Outreach Center

Once a week, the SonWorshipers staff counsels troubled kids at the juvenile center as mentors providing a positive influence. Links also helps teens to get drivers licenses, GED diplomas, and jobs through coordination with the Workforce Development Center and James Place.

Community Service Site

SonWorshipers is involved with the municipal court system providing a site for supervising teens that are working off mandatory community service hours. SonWorshipers also organizes teen volunteers to provide "good deed" services for the community.

Participate in our cause

SonWorshipers seeks other caring adult couples to coordinate with them to be mentoring associates. This may involve either opening their home or making themselves available for a couple of hours after school once or twice a month to a teenager, thereby providing the positive encouragement and interaction that exemplifies a strong link with adults and bridges the gap between the generations. Please contact Jay or Sue at the teen center for more information.
